TCS HyperVault signed an agreement with the Telangana government and secured land for a purpose-built AI campus in Hyderabad. The planned facility is designed for high-density GPU clusters used in training and inference, with direct-to-chip liquid cooling and a target capacity of as much as one gigawatt. TCS says the buildout will be phased rather than committed all at once.

The project joins compute, electricity, cooling, water and land in a single industrial system. TCS says the campus will draw on green energy, pursue water-neutral design and create several thousand direct and indirect jobs. The site is not yet operating, so the most important confirmed change is the land and government agreement behind a quantified infrastructure plan—not delivered capacity.

Why it matters

AI demand is increasingly constrained by industrial inputs rather than model availability alone. A one-gigawatt campus would require utility-scale power, advanced cooling, water management, networking and a deep construction and operations supply chain.
