Braskem maps 3,000 OT assets across 39 plants.
Braskem has deployed Rockwell Automation's SecureOT platform across more than 39 industrial facilities, mapping 3,000 operational-technology assets during the first eight months.

Braskem is using Rockwell Automation's SecureOT platform across more than 39 industrial facilities in Brazil, the United States, Mexico and Germany. During the first eight months, the program mapped 3,000 operational-technology assets and centralized contextual information about equipment connected to production networks.
The rollout replaces fragmented and partly manual inventories with continuous discovery intended to support vulnerability identification, compliance and site-level risk decisions. Rockwell reports that Braskem completed project preparation across all target units and reached 95% infrastructure readiness, but those figures are company- and customer-reported. The release does not disclose vulnerability-remediation time, detected exposures, incident reduction, segmentation changes or recovery outcomes.

What changed
Braskem previously managed OT asset information through fragmented inventories. The October disclosure provides an eight-month operating result: more than 39 facilities connected, 3,000 assets mapped and a common inventory established across a multinational chemical-production footprint.
02
Why it matters
Chemical plants depend on long-lived controls, sensors and networked equipment that cannot be secured reliably when ownership, firmware and connectivity are unclear. A contextual inventory spanning dozens of sites can give cyber and operations teams a shared basis for prioritizing vulnerabilities without treating every device as equally critical. The scale also tests whether one OT-security model can work across different plants and countries. Asset discovery is only the first layer, however; the operational value must be demonstrated through faster remediation, reduced exposure, safer maintenance windows and better recovery from incidents.
03
What to watch
Watch asset-coverage growth, unmanaged-device discovery, vulnerability age, remediation time, segmentation changes, unsupported systems, incident-detection performance, recovery exercises and independently audited plant-level outcomes.
Why it was a runner-up
The multi-country operating footprint is substantial, but the disclosed results measure asset visibility and project readiness rather than prevented incidents or reduced recovery time.
Impact: 91/100 · Confidence: 92/100
Rockwell and Braskem provide named facilities, asset counts and an eight-month deployment period, while multiple industrial publications corroborate the rollout. Confidence is moderated because operating metrics are self-reported and no incident or remediation outcomes are disclosed.
