Momenta sets a thousand-vehicle test for robotaxi scale.
Momenta is targeting several thousand robotaxis by the end of 2027 after deploying more than 100 vehicles across three countries and expanding its test footprint.
Momenta's robotaxi chief told Reuters that the company now has more than 100 vehicles deployed across three countries and expects the fleet to reach hundreds by the end of 2026 and several thousand by the end of 2027. The company is testing in five Chinese cities, Munich and Abu Dhabi and plans a Dubai deployment next year.
The expansion builds on Germany-wide Level 4 testing approval and an Abu Dhabi program with Mercedes-Benz and Lumo. Momenta is also developing the X9 autonomous-driving chip with XHeart, but the company has not disclosed city-level fleet counts, paid-trip volume, intervention rates, depot capacity or unit economics.
