NVIDIA facility gets a live infrastructure twin.
Jacobs will deploy a real-time data-center digital twin at a large NVIDIA research facility under a three-year software agreement, integrating engineering models, OT and live infrastructure data.

NVIDIA selected Jacobs to deploy its Data Center Digital Twin at a large-scale U.S. research and development facility. Under a three-year software-as-a-service agreement, the system will combine engineering models, operational technology and live facility data in a real-time environment built with NVIDIA Omniverse libraries.
Jacobs says operators will use the twin to simulate operating scenarios, track power and cooling loads, detect water leaks and support predictive maintenance. The announcement names the customer and contract term but does not disclose the facility, capacity, project value, commissioning date or measured efficiency gains.

What changed
Data-center twins have often been presented as design or construction tools. The September 30 agreement places a live operational twin inside a named hyperscale AI customer's R&D facility for three years, explicitly linking facility models to OT and current operating data.
02
Why it matters
Advanced computing facilities concentrate power, cooling and uptime risks in a tightly coupled physical system. A live twin can let operators test changes before applying them, identify capacity constraints and connect maintenance decisions to real facility behavior. That is strategically important as AI hardware changes faster than conventional facility planning cycles. The agreement also gives Jacobs a reference deployment with the company whose simulation libraries underpin the product. Evidence of value will depend on commissioning results: energy use, cooling performance, avoided incidents and maintenance outcomes have not yet been disclosed.
03
What to watch
Watch for the commissioning date, the facility's power and cooling scale, integration with building and electrical controls, scenario accuracy, detected anomalies, maintenance actions and independently reported efficiency or uptime gains.
Why it was a runner-up
The deployment is a strong named-customer commitment, but it has not yet reported operating results or the facility's scale, while the lead includes a broad installed base and quantified site evidence.
Impact: 88/100 · Confidence: 88/100
Jacobs' investor release identifies NVIDIA, the three-year agreement and the technical architecture. Confidence is high in the contract and intended deployment; facility details, implementation progress and operating results are not yet public.
